He made his debut in 2005 with his first album, "Love, the Ardent Longing".
In 2016, he appeared on "Two Yoo Project Sugar Man Season 1" where his music was brought back to the spotlight by iKON's Bobby, June and Dong Hyuk. In 2019, he became a certified scuba diving instructor, and in May, a drunk driver hit his car, and he began suffering from severe neck pain. A few years later, he underwent a cervical fusion to repair some of the damage from the car accident and had issues with his voice.
So, trying to give more visibility to his career, he has participated in singing competitions such as "Mr. Trot Season 3", where he finished in 4th place. As a trot singer, he promotes under the stage name Chun Gil.
