He was specially selected as an announcer and he made his debut in 1977 as part of the regional MBC office in Andong. He then transferred to the Busan branch of TBC, and after the media consolidation in 1980, he worked as an announcer for KBS Busan. In 1994, he moved to KBS headquarters in Seoul where he served as Deputy Head of the Announcer Department and Vice President of the Korean Announcers Association. He resigned in 1999 and became a freelancer. He is represented by CM Entertainment (CM엔터테인먼트).
