Following World War II, Nikkan Kyoto Film Studio was consolidated into Daiei, forming Daiei Kyoto Film Studio on January 27, 1942. Kaihara continued his work with the new studio. By the early 1950s, he was a technical contractor at Daiei Kyoto Film Studio, as noted in Kinema Junpo articles from 1951 and 1953.
In the 1970s, Kaihara contributed to sound recording for television dramas produced by the studio. According to a June 2007 publication of Nihon no Eigajin, he had already passed away by that time.
