He made his debut in 2008 with a pansori presentation and decided to specialize in Gyeonggi folk songs. In 2010, he formed the band SSINGSSING, combining South Korean folk music with other genres such as glam rock, disco, and psychedelic rock. The band only performed in festivals until 2017 when they appeared in NPR's "Tiny Desk Concert" and became well-known internationally. However, as the band was only a project, he decided to end activities in mid-2018.
He is known for his musicality that transcends genres and for his costumes and performances that are not restricted by gender.
