Anh Sung Jae is South Korea's only Michelin three-star chef. Born in South Korea, he grew up influenced by his grandmother's traditional North Korean and Japanese cooking, shaped by the Japan-Korea annexation period.

As a child, he moved to California, where his parents owned a Chinese restaurant, providing him with early exposure to the restaurant industry. After serving in the US Army and returning from Iraq, he decided to pursue a career as a chef.

In 2015, he opened Mosu in San Francisco after gaining experience at several renowned restaurants. Despite Mosu's success in the US, he relocated the restaurant to Seoul in 2017 to be closer to his family.
