He began represented his country in 2019 after qualifying for the junior team. He competed in the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju and was promoted to the senior national team a year later.
He made his Olympic debut in July 2021 at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He competed in 4 × 200m freestyle relay event but the team did not advance to the finals.
He then participated at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and, this time, he obtained the bronze medal in the men's 400m freestyle.
