Mikawa Yoichiro

Following his graduation from Setagaya Junior High School, he left home due to a strained relationship with his stepmother. At 17, he began his career in the entertainment industry as an assistant to Enomoto Kenichi. In 1937, at the age of 19, he joined the Shinkoku Gekidan.
After World War II, he left Shinkoku Gekidan in 1952. After experiencing a period of disappointment, he transferred to Nikkatsu, adopting the stage name Mikawa Yoichiro.
In his personal life, he married actress Tsushima Itsumi, with whom he had two sons.
