At the age of fifteen, she participated in the talent show "Idol Superstars," where she secured second place. Following this achievement, she signed a contract with Warner Records, but it became void the following year due to restructuring at the label. Subsequently, Kuan focused on her studies. On January 3, 2010, she progressed in the artist selection round of the CTV program "Golden Melody Superstars," and on March 7, she finished fourth in its first season, which led to her signing with Huan Hsiang Music.
In June 2017, media reports highlighted her involvement with Ni An Tung. At that time, Ni An Tung's spouse, Vivi, was in the midst of a divorce lawsuit, seeking custody of their daughter and requesting compensation from both Ni An Tung and Kuan for infringement of marital rights. The lawsuit was eventually withdrawn.
