Sugi Giichi, born Sugi Yoshikazu (杉義一) in Uzumasa, Ukyo, Kyoto, Japan, was a Japanese actor. He was the eldest son of actor Sugi Kyoji (杉狂児). In 1941, while attending Meisei Gakuen (明星学園), he joined the children’s theater troupe Kamoshikaza (かもしか座) and made his stage debut at the Imperial Theatre (帝国劇場). After graduating from Meisei Gakuen, he enrolled in Nihon University’s Faculty of Letters (日本大学) but dropped out in May 1947. That July, he joined the film company Toyoko Eiga (東横映画), co-founded by his father, and made his film debut in its first production, Kokoro, like the Moon ("こころ月の如く").

In 1967, Sugi left Toyoko to pursue a freelance career. From 1973 to 1975, he headed the Japan Action Club (ジャパン・アクション・クラブ) and later became the head of the entertainment division at Tokyo Hoei Television (東京宝映テレビ).
