He first appeared on TV as a contestant on Starship Entertainment’s survival show “Debut’s Plan”, where he finished in 7th place despite only being a trainee for 5 months. He earned a spot in the resulting project group, originally called NEWKIDS but later changed to IDID (아이딧).
However, in June 2025, he was accused of several past misconducts. Starship (스타쉽엔터테인먼트) strongly denied these allegations and even stated that they have evidence to refute them and will take legal action against the false rumors. But, a few days later, he announced his departure from the group without having debuted due to psychological distress.
