He spent a few years as a trainee at SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment before spending a further 3 years and 4 months at Starship Entertainment (스타쉽엔터테인먼트). He appeared in the company's survival show "Debut's Plan", where he finished in 3rd place and earned a spot in the resulting project group, originally called NEWKIDS but later changed to IDID.
He made his debut in September 2025 as part of the group with their first mini-album, "I Did It".
