She made her professional debut in 1994 when she joined Samsung Life basketball team. She played with them for her entire career until she announced her retirement as a player in 2013. For the national team, she won a bronze and two silver medals at three different Asian Games and represented her country at 4 different Summer Olympics (1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008).
She then transitioned into coaching and remained with Samsung Life for 3 years. Later, she became the head of the South Korea Women's Basketball Federation until she returned to the sidelines when she took the coaching position at Busan BK Sum in 2021.
She is married to actor Han Sang Jin.
