Nakamura Shusei, born Nakamura Hideo, was a Japanese actor and voice actor. Throughout his career he was represented by 81 Produce and later Production Baobab. He has referred to both Tokyo and Nagano Prefecture as his hometown. He was most known for the roles of Rikiishi Toru (Ashita no Joe) and Shima Daisuke (Space Battleship Yamato).

Throughout his life, Nakamura suffered from multiple mental illnesses and health conditions, including alcoholism, bipolar disorder and paranoid personality disorder. As a result, he resigned from many of his roles starting in the late 90s. After a long hiatus, Nakamura returned to voice acting in 2011 but retired just over a year later. In June 2014, Nakamura's health deteriorated and he was hospitalized.

Nakamura died due to drowining while taking a bath at a Tokyo hospital on July 30, 2014. He was 79 years old.
