Tsuburaya Akira is a former Japanese film and television producer. He is the third son of special effects director Tsuburaya Eiji. He began his career at his father's company, Tsuburaya Productions, while at Tamagawa University in 1966. He had an extremely prolific five-decade career in film and television, during which he worked on over 80 productions.

After leaving Tsuburaya Productions in 1989, he founded the production company Tsuburaya Eizo. He returned to Tsuburaya Productions in 2002 as vice president, primarily overseeing the production department. He left once again in 2005, and from that year, he served as a director for Tsuburaya Yume Kobo.

In recent years, he has frequently attended events and interviews organized by Tsuburaya Productions as an interviewer.
