Peniel
- Name: Peniel
- Native name: 프니엘
- Also Known as: Shin Dong Geun
- Nationality: American
- Gender: Male
- Born: March 10, 1993
- Age: 33
He was born in Chicago and moved to South Korea before high school so he could pursue his dream of becoming a singer. Before debuting, he spent time as a trainee at JYP Entertainment.
He debuted in March 2012 as the group's lead rapper and vocalist with their first single album, "Insane".
In November 2016, during an episode of "Hello Counselor", he opened up about suffering from alopecia areata (spot baldness). He confessed that he had to hide his condition for 5 years and use hats for 3 years as it got worse. The condition is mainly caused by stress, so it is difficult to treat.
He made his debut as a solo artist in My 2019 with the digital single "B.O.D".
He is the co-host of a podcast called "Get Real" alongside KARD member BM and former LADIES' CODE member Ashley Choi.
In November 2023, his exclusive contract with CUBE Entertainment (큐브엔터테인먼트) expired after 11 years, and he decided to leave the company but remains part of the group.
He is now represented by the BTOB Company (비투비 컴퍼니), a label created by him and fellow members Seo Eun Kwang, Lee Min Hyuk and Im Hyun Sik.
