He made his debut in May 2015 as the group's main dancer, lead rapper and vocalist with their first EP, "The Romeo". They were originally managed in a joint venture by Japanese company Pony Canyon and by South Korean company CT Entertainment. In 2016, CT was acquired by Hunus Entertainment (후너스엔터테인먼트) and took full control of the group's management.
However, he became involved in a huge controversy when, in February 2018, reports began emerging of several messages on Kakao Talk that he exchanged with an underage Japanese fan, inviting her to his hotel room. The agency immediately suspended him from all ROMEO activities, and he was put on hiatus to self-reflect on his actions.
On May 2, 2018, he published a handwritten letter apologizing for his actions and announcing he was enlisting for his mandatory service. During this time, some assumed he was kicked out of the group, while others believed he left voluntarily. However, Hunus never released a statement and the company just deleted all information about him on their website.
After being discharged, he quit the entertainment industry and allegedly changed his name.
