Before debuting, he was a trainee at MBK Entertainment and Happy Face Entertainment prior to joining Star Empire (스타제국). He was not originally considered as a possible member of IMFACT, but just before the group debuted, a trainee quit the company, and he took his spot.
He made his debut in January 2016 as the group's main vocalist and main dancer with their first single album, "Lollipop". In 2018, the group had their first performance in the United States and later released the digital single "Nanana", a song that was ranked in the Top 20 of best K-pop songs of the year.
He made his debut as a solo artist in May 2021 with the digital single "Ggoma", featuring Choi Ye Geun.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on December 14, 2021, and was discharged on June 13, 2023. However, in early 2022, the company announced the members would not be renewing their contracts. They later announced the group was not disbanding, just entering an indefinite hiatus.
He is currently represented by HAM.
