He debuted in 2008 as a member of the short-lived group Singing in the Rain and later that year he became part of the boy group XING, using the stage name White. They had already debuted in 2006 but underwent many lineup changes and he entered as part of the 3rd generation and remained until late 2009 when the group disbanded.
In 2010, he re-debuted as the leader and main vocalist of THE BOSS with the song “Admiring Boy” and then spent most of the year promoting in Japan before returning to South Korea in late 2011 as their agency followed a "Japan-first, Korea-later" strategy to market the group. They alternated promotions between both countries until 2015 when the agency went bankrupt and they had to return to XING Entertainment.
By 2017, the group barely promoted and did not release any new music so, in December 2018, he decided to leave the group. He is an avid rock fan as his father was part of a band and he is also the second cousin of 2PM's Jun K. In 2023, group members Karam, In Jun and Jay tried to convince him to return when they entered the survival singing show "Peak Time", but he declined the offer. Not much is known about him after leaving THE BOSS as he seems to have out of the industry.
