Yasuo Baba is a Japanese production company owner, writer, and film director. He is the president of Huichiye Productions (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo).

He was born in Tokyo. His maternal grandfather was an architect Koji Fujii . He founded Hoichoi Productions with classmates at a school at Seikei University, issued doujinshi magazines and produced 8 mm movies.

After graduating from university he worked at Hitachi , Ltd. and started serializing the four-panel comic book "Kimagure concept " at Manga Magazine · Big Comic Spirits ( Shogakkan ) in 1981 ( Showa 56) belonging to the company's advertising department. After that he published the 1983 published the book "vanity Course" in (1983) (Shogakukan) has become the number of copies sold 650,000 copies.

In 1987 he produced the movie "Take me as a ski " as a film director's work and left Hitachi Ltd. Hochoi production led by Baba became the image leader in the youth's lifestyle.

Since then he has been involved in the production of many books, television programs, movies, etc.

Most of the work is not an individual name but is published as "Huichiye Productions Production".
