Tomatsu began her voice acting career after winning the "Music Ray'n Super Voice Actor Audition" (ミュージックレイン スーパー声優オーディション) in 2005-2006. Her anime debut came in 2007 with "Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!" (がくえんゆーとぴあ まなびストレート!). After graduating from high school in 2008, she moved to Tokyo to continue her voice acting career while attending university.
She made her singing debut on September 3, 2008, with the ending theme song "Naissance" (ネサンス) for the television drama "Koko wa Greenwood" (ここはグリーン・ウッド). In 2009, she co-formed the voice acting unit Sphere (スフィア) with Kotobuki Minako (寿美菜子), Takagaki Ayahi (高垣彩陽), and Toyosaki Aki (豊崎愛生).
Her first album, "Rainbow Road" (レインボー・ロード), was released on February 24, 2010.
In January 2019, she announced her marriage to a non-celebrity through her blog and welcomed her first child, a daughter, in February 2021.
On February 4, 2025 she announced the birth of her second child.
