Lee Seo Yeon
- Name: Lee Seo Yeon
- Native name: 이서연
- Also Known as: 서연, Seoyeon, Lee Seoyeon
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Female
- Born: January 22, 2000
- Age: 26
Before debuting, she was a trainee at YG Entertainment and was part of a trainee group called "Future 2NE1", which included BILLLIE's Moon Su Ah. However, the members began switching agencies and debut plans, originally scheduled for 2016, were postponed and eventually cancelled.
In 2017, she participated in the singing survival show "Idol School", where she ranked in 7th place and earned a spot in the resulting group. She officially debuted in January 2018 as FROMIS_9's main rapper and vocalist with their first EP, "To. Heart", which landed in 4th place on the Gaon Album Chart.
In September 2018, Stone Music Entertainment (스톤뮤직엔터테인먼트) confirmed that the group would be managed by their newly created label, Off the Record Entertainment (오프더레코드엔터테인먼트), with Pledis Entertainment (플레디스 엔터테인먼트) in charge of the creative direction and the production of the group's music. The move was heavily criticized by fans as they felt the group was neglected in terms of promotions and releases compared to the other group managed by Off the Record, IZ*ONE.
In 2020, she took time off after suffering a leg injury while practicing.
In August 2021, the group fully transferred to Pledis after Off the Record re-organized. This generated more criticism as Pledis has a history of mismanaging girl groups and hindering their development. In late 2022, she took a break due to health concerns but recovered to be part of the group's first studio album, "Unlock My World", released in June 2023.
In November 2024, Pledis announced that her exclusive contract would officially expire at the end of the year. In January 2025, 5 of the remaining 8 members signed with another company but she decided not to. She is currently without representation, and her status as part of the group remains unclear. The use of the name FROMIS_9 is still under discussion with their former agency.
