He made his debut in May 2013 as LC9's main dancer, rapper and maknae (under the stage name A.O) with the mini-album "Skirmish". However, the group was not able to promote much, and when their contracts ended in December 2015, Nega Network (내가네트워크) decided not to renew them and they disbanded.
He then switched agencies, and his new company had plans to debut ACEMAX (에이스맥스), a group divided into two independent sub-units, RED that was set to debut in China and was made up of girls and BLK that was set to debut in China and South Korea and was made up of boys. He re-debuted in November 2017 (under the stage name D.A) as BLK's leader and vocalist with their first mini-album, "Into BLK: Part 1". However, less than one year after debuting, the group had no promotional activities, and BYKING Entertainment remained quiet until the group simply disbanded in August 2018.
In February 2020, he entered Abema TV's survival show "G-EGG". He finished in 2nd place and secured a spot in the show's project group. He re-debuted in September 2021 as NIK's lead vocalist and main dancer with their first single, "Santa Monica". About a week later, they debuted in Japan with the single "Universe".
In June 2023, SV Entertainment (in South Korea) and ARGS Productions Inc. (in Japan) released joint statements about the group's dissolution. The project was scheduled to last for one and a half years, so each member was set to return to their original agencies and continue with their individual activities.
It is unclear if he has returned to AAP.Y Entertainment (AAP.Y 엔터테인먼트) as a trainee, as no new information regarding his status has been given.
