In July 2017, Go Hyeon made his debut as 14U's main vocalist with their first single album "VVV." In May 2019, BG Entertainment (백곰엔터테인먼트) announced the group's disbandment after 13 members decided not to renew their contracts.
After switching agencies to Blue Creative Entertainment in June 2020, he was set to become part of new idol group TEN-X (텐엑스). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency faced financial issues and decided to terminate the members' contracts before they could debut.
He made his debut as a soloist in August 2021 with the digital single "Don't Laugh." In January 2022, he formed a duo with former 14U group mate Luha, called LUHA X GOHYEON, and released the digital single "You + Me = Us."
In November 2023, he signed with Howling Entertainment (하울링엔터테인먼트) and re-debuted in January 2024 as WAKER's leader and vocalist with their first mini album "Mission of School."
