Kim Young Woo is a South Korean singer, pianist, university professor and member of the group "Sweet Sorrow". He graduated from Busan Foreign Language High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Yonsei University. During his college years, he was part of the glee club and, in there, he met Song Woo Jin, Sung Jin Hwan and In Ho Jin. All four, plus four other friends, created a cappella group who they called "Sweet Sorrow" using the quote "Parting is such a sweet sorrow" from Romeo and Juliet. He decided to pursue a music career and made his debut in 2002 by performing at college festivals and events until they won the Daesang at the Yoo Jae Ha Music Competition and signed a contract with Mezoo Cultures. The group released their 1st studio album, "Sweet Sorrow", in 2005 and have continued to release albums, EPs or have sung OSTs for several dramas ever since. In 2019, they joined female vocal group The Barberettes and performed together as SBSB. He was an adjunct professor at several universities before securing a position as Full Professor in the Department of Practical Music at Yonsei University.
