Matsumura Tatsuo
- Name: Matsumura Tatsuo
- Native name: 松村達雄
- Nationality: Japanese
- Gender: Male
- Born: December 18, 1914
- Died: June 18, 2005
In 1938, he graduated from Hosei University and formed a theater troupe. He was recruited to the army in 1942 but returned to theater after the war.
When his troupe eventually disbanded, Matsumura advanced to tv dramas. His notable appearances include "Dial 110", "Zasso no Uta", "Jiken Kaisha", and "Wakai Kisetsu". He first began appearing in movies in 1959 with "Otome no Inori", directed by Saburi Shin. He most notably appeared in the long running film series "Otoko wa Tsurai yo", succeeding Morikawa Shin. He's also appeared in Kurosawa Akira's "Dodes'ka-den". His voice was often used as Matsumura commonly voiced tv programs.
On June 10, 2005, he was admitted to a hospital in Shinjuku with interstitial pneumonia. He would die of heart failure on June 18 near his discharge from the hospital. The movie, "Gege", directed by Isomura Itsumichi, was released posthumously. His last role was voicing Domo-kun, a rabbit mascot, for Domo TV. A farewell party for him was held at Zojoji Temple on July 19 with 225 people attending. Edit Biography
