Iwao Kinshiro

During his junior high school years, he developed an interest in movies and theater, often skipping school to attend theaters in Asakusa. While in university, he joined the drama club. In 1936, he briefly worked for the securities company Joni Securities (上二証券), before joining NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Troupe (NHK東京放送劇団) as a first-term trainee at the age of 30 in 1941.
In June 1959, he became a member of the management committee of the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Troupe following a structural change. After leaving the troupe, he worked with K Production (Kプロダクション), Banship Production (番衆プロ), and Production Tank (プロダクション・タンク), with periods of freelancing in between.
Iwao Kinshiro passed away on December 30, 1994, in Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan, at the age of 83 due to pneumonia.
