During his junior high school years, he showed a keen interest in movies and theater, often skipping school to attend theaters in Asakusa.
While in university, he joined the drama club. In 1936, he joined the securities company, Joni Securities. Then, at the age of 30 in 1941, he joined NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Troupe as a first-term trainee.
In June 1959, when there was a change in the structure of the NHK Tokyo Broadcasting Troupe, he became a member of the management committee.
After leaving the troupe, he joined K Production, then Banship Production, before finally joining Production Tank. There were also periods when he worked as a freelancer.
He passed away on December 30, 1994, in a hospital in Kawagoe, Saitama,, Japan, due to pneumonia, at the age of 83.
