Ryuzaki Katsu

After training at the Haiyuza Theatre Company’s (劇団俳優座) affiliated institute, he became a research student at Bungakuza (文学座). In 1963, he joined the Haiyuza (俳優座) training institute as part of its 15th generation but left without becoming a full troupe member.
In 1969, he changed his stage name to Katsu Ryuzaki (竜崎勝).
Ryuzaki developed a stomach ulcer in the late 1970s and briefly recovered, but his health deteriorated again in November 1984. He passed away from cirrhosis on December 18, 1984, at National Tokyo Second Hospital (国立東京第二病院) at the age of 44.
His eldest son was former actor Takashima Go (高島郷), and his eldest daughter is announcer Takashima Aya (高島彩).
