In 1920, he joined Takeda Masanori as a child actor and made his stage debut in the play "Eijigoroshi" performed at the Tatsumi Theater in September of the same year. He then joined the Kinoshita Yoshinosuke troupe.
He made his movie debut in the movie "Jigokusen" directed by Nomura Hotei.
In 1943, he temporarily left the Shochiku Ofuna studio and transferred to the Shochiku Performing Arts Club, but rejoined in 1946 after the end of World War II.
