Sawamura Sonosuke II was a Kabuki actor born in Asakusa Ward, Tokyo City, Tokyo Prefecture. His younger brothers are the actors Ito Yunosuke and Sawamura Shonosuke I.

He debuted at the Imperial Theater in 1922. Two years later in 1924, he succeeded to the name of the second-generation Sawamura Sonosuke.

He died at the age of 60 of diabetes insipidus.
