Hanafusa Mari is a popular musical theatre actresses. She is a former Top Musumeyaku (female leading role) of the Takarazuka Revue's Cosmos Trop and Snow Trop. She is known for the first star to perform as Elisabeth in the musical Elisabeth in Japan in 1996. She is currently signed to Blooming Agency as an actress.

She was born in Tokyo on February 28, 1973. She entered Nihonjoshidaigaku fuzoku hish school, but she dropped out to enter Takarazuka Music School as 77th student in 1989. She joined Takarazuka Revue in 1991, and then she took a role as a top musumeyaku of Snow Trop from 1994 to 1998 and Cosmos Trop from 1998 to 2006. By the time she left, she had been a part of the group for 12 years and 3 months, the longest musumeyaku tenure in the history of the Takarazuka Revue.

In 2010, she returned to acting on stage. In 2015, she starred in Toho's "Elisabeth" on stage. In 2016, she won the 23rd Yomiuri Theater Grand Prix award and the 41st Kazuo Kikuta Theater Award Grand Prize.

She made her first tv drama acting debut in 2017's taiga drama "Onna Joshu Naotora". Edit Biography
