She passed the 7th Toei New Face, after which she joined Toei and made her debut in 1959 with the NET TV drama "Fuebuki Doji". She made her movie debut in 1961 and is active in historical dramas.
In 1963, she made her debut as a singer with "Feeling well and being good at touching" from Victor Records, but she was worried that the broadcast would be canceled because she was "too sexy".
However, the subsequently released "Island Bruce" was a big hit. She won the New Artist Award at the 5th Japan Record Awards in December of the same year, and made her first appearance in the "14th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen".
She left Toei to concentrate on her career as a singer. Around the 1970s, she drastically reduced her activities before and after her marriage but returned to her singing career after her divorce. Edit Biography
