After graduating from Saiki Kakujo High School (佐伯鶴城高等学校), he moved to Tokyo and worked for a company before being scouted by a modeling agency. He began training at Sun Music (サンミュージック), where he took singing lessons, and later made his acting debut in "Denjin Zaborger" (電人ザボーガー).
Kazato retired from acting in 1979 but returned in the 2000s through performances with the theater troupe Stage E-1 (ステージ・E-1), led by his "J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai" (ジャッカー電撃隊) co-star Go Shiro (吾羽七朗).
He is married and has three children.
