In 1919, he made his debut in Asakusa's "Mikuniza". In 1922, he served in the military, and after his discharge, he participated in the Arashi Hina Masu no Tabi troupe and toured the countryside.
After World War II, he joined Toei, which was just established on April 1, 1951. He left the company in 1963 and became a freelancer, advancing to television movies in 1967, and retiring in 1970 when he reached the age of 69.
