The third generation Yanagiya Gontaro is a rakugo storyteller from Kita-ku, Tokyo. He belongs to the Rakugo Kyokai and is a consultant to the association. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Meiji Gakuin University.

At Meiji Gakuin University, he was active in the Rakugo Study Group. On April 1, 1970, after graduating from university, he became a disciple of the 5th generation Yanagiya Tsubame.

In 2001, he became a managing director of Rakugo Kyokai. He retired in 2010. Edit Biography
