He joined Shinko Kinema in 1937 and debuted with "Otoko Narya koso." In 1938, he transferred to Toho. In 1944, after transferring to Shochiku, he entered the School of Political Science and Economics at Hosei University but dropped out. He joined Shintoho in 1954 but moved to television after the company got dissolved in 1961.
His younger brother Kodaka Takashi, who died of tuberculosis in the sixth grade of elementary school, was also an actor. They co-starred in "Osanaki Mono no Hata" and "Natsukashii no Kao." Edit Biography
