Hatta Naoyuki was a Japanese screenwriter born in Otaru, Hokkaido. Actress Hosho Ayako is his wife.

In 1927, when he was 21, he joined Katsumi Yotaro Productions. The following March, in 1928, his original story was adapted and made into a movie as a script. In November of the same year, he debuted as a scriptwriter with "Mago Nikki." He was 22 years old at the time.

He wrote several books since his debut as a screenwriter. In 1931, when he turned 26, the company he was working for went bankrupt. After that, Hatta joined the Nikkatsu Tahata Photo Studio.

In 1934, he moved to Tokyo following the contemporary drama club's move to the Tamagawa studio. The following year he transferred to the Tokyo Vocal Film Factory established by Shigemune Tsutomu and became the director of the script planning. In 1937, he adapted Ishizaka Yojiro's novel into a screenplay, and the movie "Wakai Hito" became a hit.

In 1939, he joined Toho Movie Studios, and even after that, he marked an era with the so-called "literary route." After the war, he wrote scripts for Shintoho and Toei, with Toho being the main focus.

He died on August 25, 1964, at the age of 58. Edit Biography
