He made his debut in July 2011 (using his birth name) as HITT's leader, dancer and vocalist with their first mini-album, "Here Is The Top". However, they were never able to consistently promote their material, and the agency began thinking about making big changes.
In March 2012, Sony Music Entertainment Korea (소니뮤직엔터테인먼트코리아) announced the group was rebranding to I'MU but, at the same time, he was leaving the group due to personal and health reasons.
He switched agencies and re-debuted in November 2013 (using the stage name B:eta) as ALPHABAT's leader and main vocalist with their first single, "AB City". The group originally debuted in 2012 as a duo and under another agency, but both members decided to leave YUB Entertainment. One kept the group's concept, and it re-debuted as a 9-member idol group under Simtong Entertainment.
However, they went on hiatus for almost 4 years as the members began enlisting in the military, and the group could not find any stability, switching agencies 3 times before signing with APB Entertainment (APB엔터테인먼트).
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on March 31, 2015, and was discharged on December 30, 2016.
ALPHABAT returned in September 2018 with only 5 members and released their last material in March 2019. They have not officially disbanded but have not released any new music since the,n and only 3 members remain in the lineup.
In December 2022, he joined former CLICK B member Kim Tae Hyung in a project duo called CRUFFIN. They debuted with the single "My Christmas" but have not released anything else.
