Before debuting, he was the vocalist for his high school band, NAVIGATOR. Then, in university, he performed at several clubs near Hongik University as a guest vocalist for several bands. After completing military service in 2004, he signed with a recording studio of a composer who recommended him to attend the audition for BOOHWAL's new vocalist.
He made his debut in 2005 as the 9th vocalist of the legendary band BOOHWAL with their 10th album, "Lyrics". The band was formed in 1985, and he impressed all members with his powerful voice. He remained with them for 8 years and decided to leave in late 2014 after his contract expired as he wanted to discover a new side of himself and his singing.
He then debuted as a radio host and as a vocal trainer and has continued his career as a solo artist, musical actor, and TV personality, all with much success.
He is represented by Music 1 Company (뮤직원컴퍼니).
