Any similar recommendations (thriller/crime/scifi) with romantic subplot? I don't really like it when romance…
@trailblaze are there any similar suspense with romance you have watched recently. Any recs? let me know. Have you watched Joy of life Cdrama 1 &2 waiting for 3. There is a vast difference between Kdrama and Cdrama suspense/thriller Romance. But this cdrama is quite good (or atleast in my opion :) LOL)

I love this drama! However, they do get seperated towards the end for quite some time. Although it's less than…
It wasn't a break up. He does say he would come back after he decides to separate from Hee-joo, not as a means to end their relationship, but to embark on a journey of self-healing. He expresses his intention to return to her once he has addressed his personal issues and become a better partner. I think what i got out of it that it shows his choice for personal growth which is is essential for a healthy relationship

"Flourished Peony" is a captivating Chinese historical romance that has enchanted viewers with its rich storytelling and compelling characters. Set against the opulent backdrop of the Tang Dynasty, the series follows He Weifang, portrayed by Yang Zi, a resilient woman who overcomes personal betrayal to establish herself as a successful peony cultivator. Her journey intertwines with Jiang Changyang, played by Li Xian, a charismatic figure navigating the complexities of the era. Their evolving relationship is portrayed with depth and sincerity, offering a refreshing take on love and partnership. The drama's high production values, authentic depiction of Tang society, and strong performances have garnered widespread acclaim. I am eagerly anticipating the second part of the series, with filming already completed and a potential release this summer of 2025. This upcoming installment promises to delve deeper into the characters' lives and further explore their intricate relationships. cannot wait :)

"Blossoms" is a breathtaking Chinese drama that weaves romance, destiny, and resilience into a beautifully told story. The main heroine, Dou Zhao (Meng Ziyi), is given a second chance at life after betrayal, and this time, she refuses to be a victim. Strong-willed and determined, she crosses paths with Song Mo (Li Yunrui), a young general caught in the storm of political intrigue. Their love story is slow-burning but deeply moving, filled with longing, trust, and unspoken devotion. The drama brings stunning cinematography, rich historical details, and a gripping plot that keeps you emotionally invested. With no unnecessary breakups or forced misunderstandings, Blossoms delivers a romance that is pure, heartfelt, and unforgettable—a tale of love that stands strong against fate itself.

Flourished Peony" is a mesmerizing tale of love, resilience, and destiny set against the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty. At its heart is a woman of quiet strength and unwavering determination, who rises from betrayal to carve out a future of her own. In her path stands Jiang Changyang (Li Xian), a man of power and charm, drawn to her like the moon is to the tides. Their love is not rushed but deep, blooming like the peonies she so carefully cultivates—delicate yet enduring. Every frame of this drama is a feast for the senses, with breathtaking cinematography, lavish costumes, and a story woven with intrigue, longing, and passion. I am eagerly awaiting the second part, where the roots of love and fate will entwine even deeper, promising a continuation as rich and captivating as the first.

The Princess Royal - The Princess Royal is filled with romance and palace intrigue. It is a story of a second chance in life, acceptance and forgiveness, trust and love. The question of who to trust is a recurring theme. It was surprising to me to see the emperor hesitate to eat pastries brought to him by his daughter, LR. It is no wonder LR has trust issues. By the end of the drama the only person she could trust was her husband, PWX. And even when trust is betrayed, it is possible to forgive when given the chance to change your life. What I loved most about this drama is that, PWX and LR corrected their past mistakes. In the past, even though they're married, it's all suspicions, doubts, but the ending showed a couple in harmony. PWX and LR finally established the world they pined for, and they did it together, side by side. At one point, I thought the past was about to repeat itself, but I was proven wrong. "The Princess Royal" is indeed a drama of love and redemption.
The villains got their retributions and karma. The righteous ones too. As we all know, in a war, there'll always be casualties, what matters is for the benefits achieved by winning to outweigh the costs and losses, and this drama is the perfect example of that.
Finally, we see PWX and LR rise to the highest position in the nation without letting go of each other's hand. My only complaint was SRQ has the most screen time and his face was everywhere. I know that PWX and LR are the main leads in this drama, but I feel like they have been sidelined most times and it became SRQ. :(

Hi @Taino sorry for the delay in my response. There is no break up with the ML. There is a love triangle not overtly because it is with her ex-husband. There is no official announcing of the leads getting together. Initially they are antagonistic towards each other but slowly start loving each other. Around episode 32 it becomes more clearer and somewhere in the ending episodes they get married.

Thank You for your detailed explanation. Can't wait to start watching...
Don’t listen to the reviews about the ending. Make your own judgement. For me the ending was perfect even without the special episode.

The double - Entertaining Thriller with solid acting! I LOVED IT TO EVERY BIT DOWN ! a drama about betrayal, intrigue and revenge. The forty episodes go by fast. Everyone is acting a part or is a part of a scheme. Every character was memorable and unique. Our heroine, XFF/JiangLi played everyone like a chess game, yet she was also a pawn piece for Duke Su, who had been playing a long political game with various court family factions. the two started the world's slowest burning romance. The chemistry between the two were SIZZLING HOT--the way their eyes met, the puns with words like Qi (chess) with Qi (wife), the progression from sharing of cups to intimate clothing without ever once any actual romantic moment had this viewer laughing and squeeing like a young girl reading her first romance. KUDOS to WJY and WXY for their portrayal of the amazingly resilient and smart XFF/JiangLi and the crafty and deliciously debonair (every entrance he made was grand) Duke Su and his fan (oh, that fan). It is a suspenseful story that follows the female lead on her journey towards revenge as she makes friends and finds the true love of her life. Both the female and male leads make intelligent decisions (for the most part) as the story progresses, hooking the audience from start to finish. no break up for main leads, each of the villians got what they deserved. Only thing which saddened me was the two aides of Duke Su who died in the last battle.
