Imho, if the stereotype persists it means a) there's truth to it, b) you're not doing enough to change it.

I know all the stereotypes of my culture and always laugh at them in the movies and TV series from foreign countries. Yea, they're usually corny, but there's a grain of truth in them. People's perceptions don't come from nothing.

So let me get this straight, ML had a younger brother who was possessed by the greed ghost. It's the ghost that inhabits his house now, he ended his life with a suicide.
Something something happened in the past and ML's mom decided to run away with her older child and try to do what? She was in the possession of juvenile ghost's items and buried them at various places. Was she trying to save herself and ML from the greed ghost?
She came into contract with FL's father just before that, who was at that time already possessed by the juvenile ghost. The ghost then came and killed ML's mother. Was she trying to invoke the juvenile ghost for help and it went wrong when ML opened the door? Or there's something else to it?

Also, ML's grandma is a bitch. Probably favored another grandchild as a successor. Or she's just like that to everyone.

Nothing that warrants score bombing. Overreaction as always.

Yea, he was a comic relief, his scenes were rather cringey and he had a stereotypical image. But it was made jokingly, you can't take it seriously. Neither was his represantation trying to insult anything.
And furthermore, the fact that all viewers from many countries recognized the stereotype says something about how Arab world is viewed in general, can't blame showrunners for doing the same.

I was surprised that despite cube onions ML can actually cook something. I was half expecting the meat to turn into black matter like in Crazy Love 😂.
But haven't we seen something very similar at a restaurant in A Business Proposal?

It's a rom-com, most people like this genre. And it has all the classic cliche tropes that people like.
While suprnatural thriller is far from everyone's cup of tea. Plus, as you say, KTL is on Netflix, much bigger coverage.

Personally, I don't think Revenant warrants a higher score, it's good, but not amazing. If you look underneath the ghost element it's just another detective story. And while FL actress really shines there, ML actor is underutilized. He has range, but there he's always stone faced and serious.

They most likely studied at the same university. ML probably annoyed the heck out of the prince with his attitute, so now is his chance for some payback.

Also, the contract didn't have a point about ML staying close to the prince, you can read it up close.

It was a fun episode, but the Arab prince representation was so cliche.
Of course it's gonna be that "would you marry me...and join my harem of 6 wives" or smth like that. And ML of course must save FL from his lecherous advances.🙄

I don't particularly like the main lead actor. He's always playing any role with a world weary, tired face. Like, "why are you all bothering me?" kinda look and attitude.

I don't think so. I think it's FL's ghost that did her in. She needed money to get dressed up and we've seen her from ghost's perspective, being possesed until the end of the party.
But I'd like to be surprised, sure. FL's ghost killed too many people already.

And they still have not explained how ML got rid himself of the ghost when he was a child. And how the same ghost got into the burned hair accessory, and then to FL's father.

But what happened to the blogger? Did the ghost kill her to get her credit card?

I don't like it either, tbh. As well as destiny and childhood connection tropes.
You gotta work on your relationships, not rely on destiny. And people change with time, a cute kid could turn into a total pos in adulthood. And in that case comes another cliche trope - I can fix him! 😂

I finally started watching Tale of The Nine Tailed season 1, because of good scores for season 2 and I gotta say watching it in parallel with Heartbeat makes the latter look very cheap. Especially those fast vampire flying tricks. Studio Dragon sure has money for big budget kdramas.

And how many regurgitated "immortal ML waiting for reincarnation of mortal FL" plots are out there in kdramaland? Seems like every other fantasy kdrama uses same old tropes.

Same here, one of my favorite dramas, despite the flaws.
