I don’t think the main premise will change by a lot - still gonna be frustrating love polygonal makjang with scheming. Send her to jail instead of abroad, gay MLs or not, doesn’t really matter.

You mean they'll change some characters' sexual preferences? I don't care whether they will or not. The plot just sounds lika a convoluted mess. I'm also not sure with what they'll change that plot point, cuz it sounded like it was the crux of all the problems. Men were using FL to hide their sexuality or smth.

I found this kinda boring. The plot about royal family members' killing everybody indiscriminately to sit on the throne is nothing new, seen it untold times already in historical dramas. They didn't manage to have any surprising twists here either to make it less of a snoozefest, everything was obvious or could be guessed easily.

Didn't care for any of those characters or their problems. Only the Queen Dowager was slightly entertaining because her actress played a cackling evil bish well.

The only interesting part was ML and FL doing those convoluted, as if thought out on the fly shamanic ritualistic things to banish the spirits. But for a horror drama there wasn't anything scary here either. More like everything about the other world was disgusting and that little "baby bear" mascot thing was creeping me out.

Maybe would have been more interesting if it was more of an investigative drama with different cases. Maybe if they make S2, but I don't really care if they don't.

They should have made a whole drama about them, the rest here is very meh.

Agreed. Looks more like the drama hit the nail on their heads, lol. And knowing how big corruption is in SK in general, it's very hard to believe there's none of it in that industry.
Personally, I know a few stories about such crimes irl in my country, it def can happen, especially if the manager is a third party company and apartment complex isn't managed by owners' association.

In this genre I haven't found anything better in overall quality so far than Unveil: Jadewind. It's another one of those underrated ones.
I've checked quite a few, but didn't like most of the overhyped ones of this genre on MDL. Most of them are, as you said, too much romance focused, are a boring slog, or not well executed\too old.

I've a few modern mystery dramas on my watchlist to check out: Ripe Town, The Truth Within and Under the Skin. Maybe something you watched?

Wdym, those are idol period dramas as well, if you mean The First Jasmine and Unveil: Jadewind. They were also filmed when she was under her old agency. They're just made for a more mature audience and tried something fresh character wise. And both had romance, though not your typical, front loaded in your face ones.
And so far there are no announced new dramas yet, though I've heard she's gonna star in a modern drama next.

Idol сdramas are what's most popular and what keeps stars afloat. Filming yourself only in some sort of slice of life, mundane life dramas like Northward or Ordinary Greatness is a road to obscurity, not that big of an audience compared.

The plot is watchable, but FL here is infantile, naive and dense as a log in everything besides her job. She even talks in that annoying infantile tone. ML is doing most of the doing and thinking here.

I doubt she won't do those anymore, those are money makers and hugely add to popularity.

Yea, I like her because she has no qualms about trying different genres and roles, pretty makeup or no makeup at all, and has talent to carry them. She should do more of that. And let's not forget she also sings.

Quite likely. Hopefully it will die down now. Until her new drama comes out, that is - hater crazies be always coming out of hibernation when it's some rival actor's drama on the horizon. I've heard her next drama will be modern times one.
