Finally managed to finish this. Very disappointing. First few cases were kinda alright, though nothing memorable, they did the Night Market right. But the last ones just became a mix of dumb circus, mixed with some soap and badly choreographed fights. I'd say it rapidly went downhill when they decided to introduce some unnecessary soap to SML's character and make him related to the royal family. It's also quite draggy, with lots of explaining things over and over again, villains were mostly very predictable as well. There are also some jokes, but they mostly fall flat.

Other than that, both MLs' acting is forced, SML is always barking and ML has that unnatural, forced manner of speech.
ML has no character development whatsoever, he's just a carbon copy of judge Di, his mentor.
SML is really unlikeable at first, but gets better later, after he gets fired from being a general.

FL and SFL are basically background furniture here, nothing'd be lost here if they were absent. Nothing to write home about them either. One is occasionally useful as a painter, another is just another fighter rogue introduced late in the plot. I was baffled as to why FL, a lady of high status, is roaming around without maids and proper guards and living in a guy's home just because he said he'd be her sort of brother. Wtf. And her father, who supposedly is doting on her, never even visited her when she ran away from home. Her being crazy for SML and gradually wearing him down was just cringe. But not as cringe as some sort of tacked on romance between ML and SFL, that was completely out of the blue and nothing at all was shown to warrant any of this sudden development.

Not much more to say. Very overrated. I've read second season gets better, but now I'm not sure I want to continue.

People who love this drama please rate it well
I think mods here just need to close ratings until a drama finishes airing, same goes for reviews. Most of the haters will be gone by then already. And it's logical, why the f are you giving it a score after just a few episodes? Nobody's gonna listen, though.

Mdl ratings are the biggest joke in the work. I look at the rating and add 1.5 points to it to overcone dunb ahole…
Not the first and def not the last time here. They are a joke on so many levels, it's not even funny.

I am liking second fml character more. She is mature and beautiful ❤️
I've noticed this interesting actress since this year's Unveil: Jadewind, her character is interesting here too. Saw her with FL actress in Perfect Match as well.

Is this gonna be in the drama? ML needs a reality check slap so bad.

Yea, I've read that novel context under spoiler. They didn't include any of it in the drama. ML was still a jerk there, btw.

Some people were querying what he threw at her in the yacht. It’s a room key card.Actually it's not like that…
All of this is not in the drama, thanks for the context. They dropped the ball here.

Both MLs are being annoying, especially SML. Yea, FL looks like she went into her shell and only thinks about her job and earning money, with no hopes or time given for romance. But those guys are basically stalking her, making it awkward and uncomfortable.

I get SML, he's a playboy and this girl rejected him, so of course he's gonna try harder.
But ML's 180 character development from the first episode is baffling. He was a jerk who wouldn't let other people speak and making all sorts of precipitated assumptions, as if gold diggers were swarming him like flies. But we've seen nothing so far that'd warrant this nasty behavior. Guy was just full of himself. But somehow as soon as he saw FL is a cool pilot, not a flight attendant anymore, he got all sorts of regrets. Makes him look like a shallow snob, tbh. Or worse, just badly written.

Depends on the timing also lol. You cant start apologizing infront of cabin crew when she came out of washroom…
And in front of other ppl. Guy has no common sense when it comes to FL, lol. And he doesn't even realize it puts her in a precarious position, because ppl will start gossiping. The only thing that stops them from slandering her so far is her unique job, it commands respect. Can't assume she became a top student and then got the job through his bed because of all that hard training, examination, etc. It's not a paper pushing job, you gotta know your stuff.

i did not expect so much negativity, this is that show which you watch for feels, i am loving it so far.As for…
I dunno what the hate is about. Looks like some just want something to bitch about. I've seen some are even comparing it to that other ongoing cdrama, but we all know why it's popular - some ppl are just too thirsty. Personally, I dropped that other one, FL was just annoying af. Here there are normal adequate characters, fresh setting and minimal annoyance.
Though I gotta say FL being petty over that 3 years old insult is getting stale, she should chill and act professionally on the job. Otherwise, it's logical from other people, like those stewardesses, to assume she's got some feelings for ML. ML also needs to chill out and stop being so stalky in his approach, he's clearly making FL uncomfortable on and outside the job.

It's a private airline
And? Safety standards are the same for everybody. And pilot academy is a separate organization, also compliant to standards.

does anyone know what did she do for a living when learning how to be pilot? She needs to pay rent!
And training is expensive as well.

It's pretty good so far. ML here is a typical CEO jerk, but FL is selling it. The setting is also fresh.
However, it's unrealistic to become a captain in 3 years. It takes longer to train for regional airlines captain, around 5 years, and a big number of flight hours is required. And you don't become captain right away, first you work as a co-pilot. For major international airlines it takes even longer to become a captain.
I get that ML wants FL as a poster girl for his company, but experience and safety must come first. I hope this will get explored in the plot, I don't wanna see a super pro FL out of nowhere. This should realisitically be out of her league.

Have you tried Mystic Nine take a look
I have a big back log and not enough time. I'll get to it eventually, I think. But I've read it's part of some big fictional universe consisting of various dramas? Can one get into it without watching others?

People be shallow like that, utterly captivated by visuals.
If you only look at MDL scores, then sure, you may think it has universal acclaim. Which is far from truth, because score sample here actually is rather small and most of the users are very biased towards idol romance dramas. Anything but this genre usually gets very low scores compared. Some people here even downvote a drama just because it's not their favorite genre and lacks romance, talk about being shallow af.

It's not even 6.7, it's 6.4 now. Below many other idol romance dramas even, lol. Rightfully so, the plot was ass in the later half, tbh.

Yea, the title of this article is misleading af.
And funny thing is, POJ and most of these idol romance dramas are not even that highly rated on Chinese aggregators, such as Douban. Most of the rave comes from MDL, tiktok reels and some western social media, but score sample size here is still laughable compared to CN. Typically what's underrated on MDL is highly praised on Douban, and seeing what actually is highly rated on MDL I'd say I agree. I'm not saying Douban isn't prone to bot armies or scorebombing, but CN audience clearly likes variety and are more into good plots over visuals.

Agreed, there are a lot of those on MDL. Behind a pretty wrapper POJ has very mid story, especially the later part. Some people just put on rose glasses and can't seem to take them off, lol.

Yea, the author should have just made a list of top romance idol dramas of the year, clearly that's the genre he's mainly into (as well as most of the MDL audience). SiP sticks out on this list like a sore thumb, lol.
