This drama once again reminded me why I don't care much for social media. Regular dwellers of these cesspits are brainless, insensitive, cruel, irresponsible bunch with online speech incontinence, enabled by their incognito status. If you wanna get a dose of brutal negativity up to your eyeballs and a feeling of being a worthless stain on the face of humainty go surf there even for a couple of minutes. I think all public figures for the sake of their mental health should stop managing their social media accounts themselves and delegate it to their staff, if they haven't already. Can't get anything done by taking non-stop hog-wash to heart.
Anyway, FL's unraveling was rather uncomfortable to watch, because it felt very real. I hope she picks herself up and kicks that garbage of an ex out of her life soon. So that we can finally be able to see what we've gathered here for - the leads romantic relationship, so far it's not even in the plans for them to work together professionally, not to mention anything else.
YIN is playing a different type of public figure character harassed by social media here, she's doing it very well, but personally I liked her strong willed character in Touch Your Heart more, she didn't let it get to her there.
This saeguk so far is more entertaining than others that came out this year, maybe because it has more action and has somewhat contemporary themes with this whole "attorney at law" schtick. FL actress is a bit stiff, but maybe because of the role she's playing, never seen her in other works to compare. ML and his buddy stole the show though, their chaotic duo is very entertaining to watch. I also like FL's maid, she's so prim and proper on the surface, but ML's buddy definitely has a certain effect on her 🤣.
What's the point of showing us ML's workplace? Looks like his friend is the only guy working there - the staff looks unmotivated and lazy, ML doesn't do anything there but be absent, or sit around drinking hot beverages and complaining. For a publishing house it must be one of those very tiny and barely profitable ones. And I gotta say, ML's friend is the only guy I like in this whole drama. The rest of the guys (ML, FL friend's husband, FL's bf) are apathetic, lazy, cowardly, two-timing jerks. And 4 episodes in there are barely any scenes with the leads - they're wallowing in their own problems.
Am I the only one who believes there is more to what was happening in the car than just cheating? He wanted to…
What else was going on there? The girl forced him to kiss her? Give me a break. It was clear it wasn't the first time either, FL even admitted it that she knowingly closed her eyes on red flags. He didn't deny cheating, but he didn't own up to it either. He simply put all the blame on FL instead of confessing to her when he could and amicably break up. He's just a sleazy coward, there's nothing else. I bet he would have strung her along indefinitely, because it cozied his ego to have two girls.
RIP to the these people who expected Bora to handle her breakup well, just because she is a famous dating coach…
Dating coach is just another job to sell people on stuff. Many people can't, but you gotta separate the real person hiding behind the public persona. So I wouldn't laugh at FL's bad luck, but I'm sure many will in the drama. Since it involves her job, I guess when it goes public her professional reputation will be ruined.
FL's cheating bf deserves a high kick into the stratosphere. F*cking hate that guy. What a cowardly, lying piece of shit! But overall I liked this break-up episode, FL acted it well. Looked painfully real. It looks like a serious drama so far, not much comedy here.
Still no subs, I was always frustrated with the Oasis drama by waiting for the subs, but they at least released…
Does TVING has to have English subs though? It's not an international streaming service. And if it's not airing on official international services then wait for volunteer unofficial subs and calm down.
why the drop in ratings ?? let me guess , they focused more on romance & fluffy moments instead of actual cases…
Actually, no. It's still mostly about cases and revenge. My guess there's nothing fresh here and that it's a saeguk isn't helping either. Or maybe what the majority wants is romance & fluffy moments, but there's barely any, hence the low ratings.
I disagree about the verdict of the last case, but I guess in Joseon times prisons and labor camps were non-existant. For murder it's either off with your head or off you go...
It is similar to The Menu with its message, but I found FL here unrealistic. People train to become chefs for many years, she only knew how to cook street food/wok and suddenly she's an ace with all these crazy recipies and techniques that require not just raw genius, but tons of practice and thorough knowledge of theory. It wasn't shown that she had spent a lot of time in Hunger to become so knowledgable, a year max maybe. So it was just looking ridiculous. Other than that, it's a good enough drama and I liked the ending, it had the same message as in The Menu, but without being too pretentious. 7 out of 10.
