Because the novel is clearly a female centric story where the female character is the protagonist and the one who has the spotlight so?? Actually the part in your comment about equal tension and all isn't true...in fact, It's pretty much always been the exact opposite in fiction where the fem char constantly gets her ego crushed by a terrible toxic rude man, fixes his personal issues and traums and has to beg for his love in the end as well; So why is it so difficult to stand it when the genders are reversed for once???
