If everyone became a vigilante then lawlessness would reign over the world. We have laws for a reason. You can’t…
Think of vigilantism like salt in a recipe. A pinch can bring out the flavor, too much can ruin the dish. If everyone became a vigilante, society would be too salty to handle. A skilled vigilante knows the precise amount of vigilantism to add to elevate society from bland to bold. The careful balance of vigilantism is the secret ingredient that distinguishes a just society from a lawless one
"You can’t just be judge, jury, executioner"
Life is a play, and we're the players. Or are we? Why be limited to the roles assigned to us? We can take on the role of director
The law is a script we choose to follow or rewrite. Let's take charge and show life that we're not just players, we're the masters of our fate. We'll be the judge, jury and executioner, and we'll guarantee justice is served
"Two wrongs don’t make a right"
Why do we have even and odd numbers? Add two odd numbers together, they become even (a right). By that logic, two "wrongs" make a right
Totally agree!Honestly, I would be disappointed as well if Heesu and Seung Won become side characters BUT I feel…
My opinion is that adaptations should be like a good partner, faithful and true to the original. Otherwise, they're cheating on the story
I wouldn't want to hear a cover of a pop song that turns into heavy metal halfway through, I wouldn't want to watch an adaptation of a gay story that goes "straight" on me halfway through
"Straight" stories are adapted with their original "straight" elements intact, their adaptations don't remove the "straight" elements or add gay elements. Why can't gay stories be adapted with their original gay elements intact? They're not given the same treatment as "straight" stories, they undergo changes or censorship to conform to homophobic expectations
The removal of the second gay couple from "Heesu in Class 2" adaptation and their replacement with a "straight" couple is an example of the injustice facing gay representation. I hope you understand that I can't support or condone the changes
"It's dangerous" isn't a strong argument against vigilantism or retribution. Chainsaws are dangerous, they’re still helpful for clearing a forest. Vigilantism or retribution is helpful in situations where the law doesn't deliver justice. It's a backup plan, it's a response to injustice and disorder
The law is a two-faced jester, prancing around and juggling favors for the rich and powerful. Then a vigilante appears to right the wrongs, and the law suddenly develops selective amnesia to cry foul at the vigilante for daring to point out the law's involvement in criminal activity. Criminals get off with a slap on the wrist, the person standing up and saying, "that's not fair" is sat down with a heavy dose of punishment. This would make me laugh, if it weren’t so darn sad
I don't share this belief. Law enforcement isn't always fair. Sometimes the scales are tipped in favor of those with money or power, and that's when vigilantism should step in to level the playing field. It might not be "by the book," but it's a powerful tool for justice in a broken system
People are jumping to defend this pile of "straight" garbage before it's had a chance to stink up our screens. Take a whiff of it first
Producers have a long history of royally screwing up gay stories. I won't give them the benefit of the doubt. The minute I heard about a "straight" couple semi-dominating the screen, I knew the gay couple was in trouble. The "straight" story will take away airtime from the gay couple's story so that homophobes can watch a man and a woman do boring "couple" things. It's annoying that the producers don't fathom the possibility of a man and a woman being just friends
Totally agree!Honestly, I would be disappointed as well if Heesu and Seung Won become side characters BUT I feel…
You're the ones having a hissy fit over my preference for pure, undiluted, 100% pride-certified gay stories
My goal is to center and normalize the gay experience, it's not to further marginalize gayness by shoehorning "straightness" into it. To normalize gay stories, we should allow them to exist in their own right. Let them be gay. They need their separate platform where they can thrive
"... maybe the team loves the original story as much as the viewers do"
Get real. Their re-imagination of this gay story isn't love, it's greed. They're co-opting a powerful gay story and watering it down to fit their and society's "straight" agenda. I would never compromise the gay elements. That's love. True love doesn't bend to the will of others
"We can't say they butchered something if we didn't even see the end product yet"
The end product is a Frankenstein's monster of fake "gay representation," stitched together from mismatched bits of gay and "straight" storytelling. It's butchered and half the gay, pride and joy it could've been
Why bother with an actress when In Guk has the charm and charisma he needs right there within himself? Give the man a mirror and let the sparks fly. The only person who could possibly match his talent is himself
I don't even know what to say🤔 I definitely gonna watch this series but it has been so long seeing SEG in romantic…
Actors like Seo In Guk should stay far away from "romance." The genre is a poor match for their talents. They're better suited for roles that are more suspenseful, mysterious and intriguing
"... the "straight couple" added, aren't made up but existing characters/ friends of the BL couple just without…
I prefer to enjoy my BL or GL without "straight" interruptions. I'm more vocal about my complaints than you, that's my way of expressing my love for gay stories
Totally agree!Honestly, I would be disappointed as well if Heesu and Seung Won become side characters BUT I feel…
You and your buddies can go right ahead and enjoy this drama
I might or might not tune in, and you'll have to excuse me, I won't wave pom-poms or raise a glass to toast its commercial success. They inserted "straight" scenes into a gay story to keep the homophobes happy. I'm not having it. Gay stories are complete and worthy of being told on their own
At best, the "straight" scenes will be getting the fast forward treatment from me. At worst, they'll be facing the wrath of my keyboard in the comments section
Totally agree!Honestly, I would be disappointed as well if Heesu and Seung Won become side characters BUT I feel…
Society won't do a flip-flop on gay content anytime soon. But that's no excuse for producers to butcher gay stories. They should've started from scratch, with a new story that blends the gay and "straight" elements they want. Instead, they lazily adapted a beloved gay story and spilled "straightness" over it like a drunk relative at a wedding spilling red wine (straightness) over the cake (gayness) and then trying to cover it up with toothpaste (excuses). The nerve, the gall, the impudence of it all!
Imagine the producers taking a "straight" story and giving two of its male characters a gay love story. The mainstream audience would cry about how "the sanctity of male friendships" was destroyed. They add "straightness" to a gay story and destroy the sanctity of male-female friendships, what, we're supposed to roll over and accept it? I won't let the homophobic majority have fun messing up our gay stories
I would have preferred a lesbian couple instead of a straight couple tbh. If 3/4 of the story is gay like the…
A lesbian second couple would've been the dream
It's time for Korea to stop playing coy with our favorite gay stories and make a choice. Either give us the gay goodness we crave, or take your half-hearted, straight-washed adaptations and put them back in the closet where they belong
I don't understand. What is going on and what are you trying to say?
"... the show is Sha good"
That's your opinion
This adaptation better not be as basic and homophobic as I suspect or I'll unleash my inner Internet villain in the comments section. You've been warned
People seriously love to complain lmao be happy this show is even seeing the light of day, it has taken FOREVER.
The real blessing would be if we didn't have to add in a "straight" storyline to get an okay from the homophobic powers that be. I'm not going to be happy or grateful for a half-gay, half-straight appetizer when I asked for a full-course, fully-gay meal
They are all bot accounts of Sigh and other individuals camping here! They like and praise their own comments
You couldn't be more right about these fans. They are experts at hating. They've questioned our intelligence, our sanity, even wished for our digital demise, and they call us "haters?"
I didn't insult them back, I'm letting their malicious behavior speak for itself

People can react however they want to the adaptation. I'm standing firm on my "No Straight" policy
"I am ok with that"
I'm not okay with it, I'm counting my annoyances
We know the characters were present in the source material, it's their so-called "love line" that's made up and faker than a YouTuber's apology video
I didn't insult them back, I'm letting their malicious behavior speak for itself
