you are right. i thought it to be based on food and a comforting series. the father and brother are annoying but bearable. so everything was going well. but even after ep 20 there has been no major character development in them, it's more like back and forth. father is arrogant about his success, and mother is good but gets angry often. and then getting to know they will forget everything once they are back is such a letdown. i thought since 10 eps are left, they all will get better, but even if they what would be the point?
about ml & fl, it's been 3-4 eps since they have been looking at eo with sadness and not much interaction b/w them. and this will go on till ep 30 !?!? what was the writer even thinking??
until ep 20, it was 10/10 for me, but now idk.

I’m still at episode 22, waiting for them to get together, but having read the spoiler of the ending and last three episodes, I am somewhat disappointed. Don’t know if I should continue watching it or not. Maybe I should skim through eps and watch it for LYR🫠

them falling in love is just so natural. it didn't happened suddenly but gradually throughout the eps that you wouldn't even question when they will confess. i hope you have a good watching!

Everything was perfect—from the costumes to the set's intricate details, bgm, fighting scenes, chemistry, character development, face card, acting, script, mystery element, pacing, emotional depth, and even the revenge involving not only the leads but also the villains was satisfying to watch.

He could have, but it wouldn't be foolproof. The emperor is in the palace, and there are his guards guarding him. Also, XJS doesn't have many people with him. Not only that if he kills him in the palace, it will be regicide. In ep 38, it states that the emperor is killed by someone, and they are searching the whole city to find the person. So it clearly shows that he doesn't want to show that he's rebelling/usurping.
And I think the place where the emperor is killed is either secluded or away from the palace, so it's easy for him to make a move and leave without implicating himself and with not too much problem.

if he did that then he won't be able to get the throne. grand plan is throne, and for that he needed to kill the emperor and his mother and his revenge.

Tho Xia Jingshi is crazy and unlikable, his revenge was satisfying to watch.

In the whole drama he is the most honest one lol. Even in recent episode, he again offered his help to return to her country. But she rejected him. I think it was a great opportunity instead of working with the emperor, she should work with him and leave.
