Well, I can't say much since I've only read the sample, which is no more than a few chapters in the beginning. But so far it's just as the trailer showed, which is Gun (Perth) wanting both Aiyara (Santa) and the land he owned. Not much happened aside from Gun trying to make Aiyara submit to him and Aiyara fighting him with his all, also some background stories. It still hasn't reach the point where they like each other. Like the author said, it's black flag x red flag, that much is clear from the get go. About the difference between the novel and the trailer, what I noticed the most is the dynamic between Gun and Niran (Tytan). In the trailer, Gun said he thought of Niran as a brother, while in the novel, Niran was a prostitute working under Gun, and he was Gun's favorite. Calling him brother after all that is weird imo, also Niran saying he'd give anything if Gun wanted more which didn't make sense if Gun already "owned" him. So I'm guessing they'll probably tweak his character and his relationship with Gun. But well, since it's only the pilot trailer, they can still change it. So it's still possible for them to end up following the novel.

Read the novel's sample and after comparing it to the trailer seems like they'll change a lot of things. I'm liking most of the changes GMMTV made from the novel they adapted so far, at least the ones I watched, so I hope that will be the case too with this one. The characters will show new sides from Perth and Santa, especially the latter, which will be refreshing to see and I'm excited for that.

It's just like PPW JG TN whose series was being cancelled. So JG's series was announced by the end of OFDO, TN's will probably too by the end of ADAAP, and PPW's will probably at the end of PAM or their concert. Since PS's series was given to someone else, it's logical that they also have a new series being announced for 2026, regardless of when it will be aired. GMMTV is sticking to their intention to give all cps at least one 2026 series.

It's the reason why many couple irl broke up. Rather than falling out of love, I'd rather say it faded. There are a lot of hints why it happened. They were just not compatible to begin with. Wen had been trying to be someone he wasn't in order to please Alan, while Alan was the kind of person who barely gave his partner space. As time went on it worn out the love Wen had for Alan and he eventually come to a point where he had enough, while Alan was blissfully unaware of it because he was the type who lived in his own head, that's why the breakup came as a surprise for him. Their problem was they failed to communicate, another reason why a lot of couple broke up irl. Their breakup was very realistic. It didn't just happen, it took years of build up to reach that point. It's different with Jim because they had seen each other in their lowest, they actually communicated pretty well, and they understood each other.

If you hate them enough to not want to say their name, many of us webtoon and novel readers call them Trashta and Sovieshit, you can use them if you want lol.

I feel like they'll rush the first part of the story until Navier's marriage with Heinley so it won't take long for them to get together. There's no way they don't give enough time for Navier's feelings to grow after marriage. And just realized that the third male lead isn't in the cast too, so seems like they really cut A LOT.

They probably cut and change a lot from the plot and the characters. Like I don't even see the girl Navier sponsored in the cast, so she probably won't be in the story and even if she is, the significance of her role in the story will probably be reduced by a lot, no more than a cameo role.

Since this is a Disney+ series, it probably won't cover the whole story and we'll get season 2 if it's successful.

Death is definitely coming for him, but when he said that, he wasn't at the death's door yet. Ryu had come to take care of him until the end, and that exchange happened while they were on a trip. Even the fact that Johan was still able to talk smoothly showed that he still had time before his death, since he was supposedly losing function of his muscles bit by bit until he was unable to breathe by himself. So imo it's not a goodbye, since they still have time to be together after saying that and it's not just a day or two, probably even months. Like you said, it is SELDOM used in romantic contexts, unless a particular intensity or urgency is required. Johan said it after more or less 7 years of missing and yearning for him, also Ryu left his family including his daughter behind in Japan and stayed in Berlin for him, so isn't it also reasonable to think that the word came from the intensity of his feelings instead of urgency?

Will you say that to a friend though? Like if you, a Japanese, said I love you to someone else in their language and they said aishiteru in return (they're fluent in Japanese to the point of becoming a teacher) in the middle of a drive, are both of you friends? Just purely curious, what would a Japanese think in that situation? Also the person who said that was someone you lived with for quite a while, always cooked for you, supported you through ups and downs, liked to draw only you, drew a picture book for you, missed you more than the baby they raised and loved together with you while they were away, left a video message especially for you when they were near their death door, said seeing you make them want to continue living, wanted you to be part of the last sight he saw btw. Genuinely curious of what you would've thought of their aishiteru in that situation. Would you think they said that in the context of being friends? If yes and they were actually in love romantically with you, what would it take for you to get it if that word failed to convey that to you?

Johan saying aishiteru for example. It translated as I love you in English which led to many people think that he possibly said that only as a friend, when not even a couple say that word easily in Japan. That's why people who know are moved by his choice of word.

Well, you're the one who said even friends can love each other, not in romantic context lol. And it's true that people used the word love for everything, like I love reading, etc. So the word love is really too shallow to express the depth of feelings contained in "aishiteru". Or should I say too generalizing. But people just have no choice but to use the word anyway since there's no better word in English.

The way their feelings and the nuances of the words they said being lost in translations is really frustrating 😭😭

Learn what aishiteru means for Japanese before you speak lol. It's not as shallow as English's "love".

I won't police you about that. I'll be honest, I feel the same about Last Twilight, but only because the ending was against what I thought to be the theme of the series, which is a journey towards acceptance. Maybe they're trying to represent hope, idk. But LYT is different, it's a journey about healing, so Solar not healing would be against the theme and I don't think they're comparable. And tbh, we still don't know how the series will handle Solar's situation. What I like about this series is, despite having to face new problem each ep and having conclusion by the end, there was always indications that the process for the problem to be fully solved didn't end there, but continued onto next eps instead. So who knows what would happen, since this series is quite unpredictable. Maybe despite Solar and Sun becoming one, what happened would still affect him moving forward so he wouldn't be fully "fixed" by the end of the series, but he would be fine. Just like how even after Pobmek gave his mother a chance but he didn't forget, it was only the start of the journey towards healing and forgiveness. But again, who knows.

Solar's clearly spiraling down and showing signs of depression in the latest ep. He was severely self-blaming and having negative thoughts that stressed him out to the point of turning into anxiety which caused the panic attack. It might be not at the level of life-threatening yet, but it might be someday. I mentioned cancer since it also had different stages, it could get worse, and it could recur. Btw I don't have any problem with you not wanting GMMTV to "fix" him, it seems like I have a misunderstanding that you're having problem with Pobmek trying to "fix" him, which was what I had problem with. So I'm sorry for that.
