A bonus point is that this show is based on a novel that is already 20 years old, even few months older than Rio. At that time, the numbers of good quality BL were totally rare.

Recommended you to watch Mashin Sentai Kiramager, his debut role. Even though it was a show for kids, but he performs it very well. Seeing Rio as an cute, cheering and comedian Juuru were an pleased to watch.

I also agree with you, if counted in Takaten as the support role, he already performs 3 BL shows in this year, so it was a doubt to think that he'll continue to play roles in BL or not.

I don't think MBS will do that, since he didn't show any signs that he can play the lead role. For example, in Sepakoi, as Iguchi, he never had any recognition that what kind of relationship Kaneda and Yanase have for all time of the series. And in this one, as the class chairman, he truly supports Koichi and Mitsuru, but in the "friends" term, so far, he still doesn't have a sign that thinks they are in the L-term.

But Rio was completely different, just in the Tanaka role in Takaten, I already think that: "Wait? Why this guy wasn't the lead role from the start?"

It's an SE, there's not any chance that Koichi will stay like that until the end of the show. But still, a worthy show to watch, even though SE is never my type.

I can feel the same too, this one is the only one that can root me into it for so long like this. But ironically, while the previous three were rom-com with light plots and happy endings, this one was the opposite in every term 😥

But still, I want to hope that there's a lighter plot in the end, as they make Koichi's "zombie" state lighter than the novel. In the novel, the bruises and wounds he takes were worse than the drama ver, even his head was deformed.

As in EP6 trailer, it's already the sign that he won't last long and it never gonna be a HE. And as a person that loves this series, I think you should considering about watching EP8 or drop it, cuz it gonna tearing your heart apart and makes you cry, like what the main cast said in the interview.
