This was amazing, but I really disliked the back and forth between Ji Ho and Je Hyuk. It was obvious they were going to get together by the end, and I disliked the wasted screentime their "Will they, won't they?" had. I found Je Hee and Joon Ho more interesting by far, but I was never in this for the romance or couples. I really loved the beautiful storytelling and incredible cinematography most of all, and the way the story takes realistic approaches in giving bad folks good or bad endings depending on their final choices in the end. I could never fully predict what kind of ending the series would give a prison character, because they defied my expectations almost always. JKH and PHS bromance is also peak comedy and wholesome and really drove the entire whole show for me as well as their entire prison crew and the brilliantly shot prison atmosphere. I grew to love almost every single character by the end, including all the correctional officers and inmates. Visual and storytelling masterpiece
I never thought a horror would make me cry this much. Such a beautiful message with wonderful storytelling (Kang Full is brilliant!) and acting. The cinematography is on a whole other level and there's so many little details sprinkled throughout that all accumulate into mind-blowing reveals.
I can't wait for Timing to get a drama adaptation now
At first, I just watched it for Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun's younger actor roles which they are amazing in, but I really found the plot interesting, so I continued. Unfortunately, the adult actors don't have nearly the same chemistry or acting talent YJG and KSH have, so I still found the first 5 episodes to be the strongest..the plot also starts dragging out and wasn't as interesting to follow at certain points.
Something must be wrong with you. There is a problem with you protecting a pedo with more than enough evidence against him, but why are you saying this on a random drama that has nothing to do with him.
Overrated and forgettable movie, but this left a lasting impression on me. I got very invested in the choice between dreams and love that's talked about in this, but I think it's a flawed message. I don't think you have to choose one or the other, and unfortunately, the writers didn't understand this. They couldn't give Yong both, and Yong was done dirty in how he was practically forced to make his choice. Han Sol was probably going to break up with him in the future, though, so maybe it saved him the trouble. It was pretty clear near the end that she wasn't into or cared about him at all compared to his friend. He fell for the wrong person.
My love for Yeo Jin Goo is the main reason I tolerated finishing this. Besides him, the FL is also great with her acting and chemistry, and Bo Won is the only one of the side cast I liked. His relationship with the ML was great. There's not much for character development outside of these three and MWJ who was written very poorly. I found the plot pretty terrible and many stupid things that went on made me want to skip through. The romance between the ML and FL is the best and only enjoyable part of the drama.
I think this would have been one of the best dramas if it was less episodes as it got too serious at the end. Too many unnecessary plots but the main couple is really cute and their chemistry and acting is 10/10. Ye Jin Goo is one of my all-time favourites, and I loved the FL (huge fan of Mun Ka Young now). They were so perfect together, and I loved them both and so many other characters that were all really well fleshed out. The FL's mom and grandma had the best developments and moments out of the rest. This is a great healing drama with a great buildup for a perfectly realistic relationship, and a unique and enjoyable story. The beginning with the serious and dark topics mixed in with the insanely hilarious antics was genius to me, and I absolutely loved the slow buildup of the ML and FL's relationship. The cinematography is on a whole other high level at times and the OST is great. I am really going to miss this cute couple! I hope they act again together in the future
The writing for this is really lazy and bad, but I still really enjoyed it cause of the acting (Yeo Jin Goo is one of my all time favourite actors) and emotional moments. I found myself relating with Hae Sung, and found myself crying and smiling at moments with him. I do think some people should have been punished more, rather than the overly happy endings they got, but it's still a great supernatural innocent romance and family drama if you just turn off your brain as there's also a lot of illogical moments and the killer mystery is dragged out way too long. The slice-of-life moments are the best ones. I also think 2nd ML needed a better actor, cause he was a boring pretty face with no change in expression
The only reason I'll rewatch this is for the perfect first 5-6 episodes with the vibrant child actors. I wish an adult Yeo Jin Goo and Kim You Jung would remake this, cause the adult performances were seriously downhill. KSH was the only decent one, but given his recent infamy, I can't stand to watch him in anything anymore, anyway. My advice to future watchers is to just watch the first couple of episodes with the child actors, cause they are easily the best part of the entire drama.
MUST WATCH for bromance and sci-fi lovers with hints of romance This needs a season 2! Super underrated. Season 1's main focus was wrapped up perfectly, but there was something they still needed to answer, and they unfortunately left a cliffhanger for that at the end, as they didn't have enough episodes. This was very brilliantly written and acted. YJG acts his heart out as always with his standout performances, and I found GSY was a great match too. Both their eyes and body language are so incredibly expressive. I didn't like the parts with 2037 at first because of the actors, but then I got immersed in how seamlessly they weaved both worlds together (without something cliche like time travel), and I started loving the 2037 parts as much as the 2017. KKW also got much more room to act as the episodes went on, and the pacing was almost perfect until the end. Very tightly written and executed plot. Great OST. There are plenty of great plot twists, and the plot introduces some very complex and heartbreaking issues, like what it means to have self-identity, or the extent to which faith is held. This is a drama I will never get over.
A brilliantly precise thriller, so well-blocked and framed, fantastic performances, and probably the best structured screenplay I have seen in a while. So tightly edited and put together. They don't make movies this efficient anymore. Yeo Jin Goo kills his role as always.
One of my favourites. Absolute god-tier. It's an emotional rollercoaster all 16 episodes; incredible ride of your life. I both laughed and cried my heart out. Besides stand-out performances from YJG and IU, everything from the great script to the cinematography, the masterpiece OST, amazing sets, and direction was almost perfect.
I'm especially proud of Yeo Jin Goo for being able to express his character so masterfully, given what he was barely given in his script compared to IU. He's written to be a plot device with a really bland narrative, but his acting carries it. He's easily one of my favourite actors of all time, but he has far better projects (should have received awards for CC), and I wish they had given him more room to act than with the little character description he got in this. I'm really glad he was praised for his efforts by Korean netizens for the narrative he brought to his character by himself through his acting nuances. The way he talked about it in interviews, it's clear he loves acting and spends a lot of time preparing.
I cried too many times during those last few episodes. Bittersweet ending, but the drama stayed true to its main theme until the end.
Not really. Procedurals can be great, but so can crime psychological thrillers like this. The character writing in this is perfect and all the actors bring it to life.
