I hate that what the neighbors were doing was presented more as a comedy and not as extremely malicious and dangerous. Going to people’s jobs and accusing them with zero evidence of being an accomplice to murder is something that’s hard to laugh about. The dad literally should have kicked them all out. I see that people are still complaining about the FL and how unforgiving she is. Just seeing the flash backs is enough for me to root for the daughter. The way she grabbed her mother in the store shows that everything she does is out of protection of her mother. She does not want her mother to go back into the cycle of being constantly disappointed by her dad and face further humiliation.

I’m so confused on what you guys consider a noona drama. I know they have an age gap in real life but that doesn’t…
also the people complaining about the age gap. The ML is pushing 30, not exactly a spring chicken. Also lots of the FL’s that are in their 20’s play characters that are established and in their 30’s. Some of them also play high schoolers for example the entire cast of true beauty. That’s what you call ACTING. Actors should be able to play any roles as long as they are able to pull it off. If actors could only play their age we would have to delete pretty much 90 percent of shows and movies.

I’m so confused on what you guys consider a noona drama. I know they have an age gap in real life but that doesn’t mean that the characters they will be playing will necessarily have that same age gap. I’ve watched a few dramas where they have an age gap in real life but age isn’t mentioned at all in the drama. I thought that it would only qualify as a Noona drama if it’s apart of the script like something in the rain. This drama doesn’t appear to have age specified in the trailer/discription. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Enjoyed the first two episodes. Is there a law in Korea that stipulates that every drama must have a murder mystery plot line? These type of dramas where the FL is working herself to the bone they always have a useless brother. It would be nice to show the entire family working together to make ends meet. I’ve seen few people already mad at the FL for how she reacts to her dad. I feel like she hates him more for destroying her mothers dream with that last store. The father consistently put his ambition before his family and put their livelihood and safety at risk multiple times. The dad disappeared and never even checked in with his family this entire time. I’m curious to know more about what he was doing this whole time and how he made his money.

Ughh how cringy and disgusting all the characters are, especially ML when it comes to his unhealthy obsession…
TBH the entire premise of this drama is completely unethical so in order to even watch it you are gonna have to put some of your moral beliefs to the side. They literally did an unstable human experimentation on him without his consent. The FL who might be one of the worst psychiatrist read his chart and proceeded to shame him for all his illnesses. After all that she still proceeded to him that the rat was more significant whilst knowing he has severe mental health issues. When he asked her if the rat was more significant she at no point tried to tell him no. The ice cold I have deep trauma character does not work with this type of profession. It just makes the FL very unlikeable. You are right about the ML. I don’t know if the intention was to do that sexy arrogant thing but it’s coming off very creepy stalker vibes instead. I wish that instead of making him an obsessed lover we would actually see him rebuilding his life and the romance could just be a bonus.

kdramas be having the most unethical psychiatrist in every drama. It’s like the writers forget that they are dealing with extremely vulnerable population.

because the last secretary was their feiend and she badmouthes the prosecutor and then th fl took her place and…
No, that’s not the reason why the whole theme of this drama has been ageism leveled at this woman by everyone including the prosecutor even though she proved time and time again that she has the necessary skills to work there. She’s even more diligent than the previous secretary that was working there. It was less bitter and jealous and more of age shaming that happens a lot in kdramas.

I’m honestly enjoying the show. What perplexes me every episode is the level of ageism depicted on screen. Is it impossible for older people specifically women to have careers and jobs in Korea? The female employees saying their shocked she held on this long but it’s still inappropriate for an ajumma to be working in a prosecutors office. I don’t understand she clearly has the skills needed to be able to do her job why are they acting like this? Their boss is older as well and they don’t seem to have any issues working under him so that confuses me even more. Also most of them look to be in their 30s to late 40s so I don’t know why they are acting like spring chickens. very confusing.

Korea is such an ageist society. I don’t understand why they believe older people cant get the job done. Especially, since the ML and his co-worker are not spring chickens themselves. They did the same thing with the teacher in midnight romance in Hagwon. They kept saying he is such an old man will he be able to teach. Please be serious.

Somebody let Korean writers know that a serial killer does not need to be lurking in the background of every drama. At least change the target demographic. Maybe a serial killer that targets men for a change. Spice things up a bit. Nonethless, enjoying the drama and can’t wait to see how things develop.

The biggest disconnect I have with kdramas is not fully understanding the things the public decides to get angry about. I truly don’t understand why they were so upset over that video to the point of boycotting their product and leaving her so many hate comments. Also their work environment is so violate and competitive. I can’t imagine caring that much about my job. I’m here for a paycheck. I don’t have the energy for anything else.

The school friend immediately thinking that the ML is a complete different person and does a whole DNA test only happens in kdramas. I would have thought disassociate identity right away or some kind of way his brain was protecting him after the abuse and suicide attempt. In kdramas though the logic seems to be the person thinking they must be an alien, witch, Cupid etc…. in Cupid the police guy started immediately thinking he wasn’t a human.

I really don’t like the ML and the stupid IT girl that’s helping him. I believe he went to the trial so he knows that his father run over a child and left him to die out alone in the park. We are suppose to believe he is this intelligent guy that is doing all this research but does he even question the circumstances of his mothers accident? There was a whole article written on the suspicious circumstances surrounding that incident and he hasn’t seen it?? if he does something to her mother she should go and unplug his mom in return. I am not shocked at how he turned out considering how vile and disgusting his father was. idc to even hear about his sob story that later be used to justify his despicable behavior of torturing a grieving mother. To top it off it’s clear that he is working for the guy that most likely was the person that was truly responsible for the demise of his family.

you don't know the full truth though. The killer might be someone else and ML's father might have taken that blame…
That’s ridiculous. For starters we don’t even know if the son was dying. Hypothetically, if he was, what parent would be so callous to the mother of a child that just died? If anything wouldn’t he have been able to relate to her circumstances and at least be empathetic to her considering that he played a part in the demise of her child? The reality is that you just think the ML is cute so you want to side with him. No rational person would excuse the horrific behavior of that man.

He didn’t just behave rudely. This man either killed her son or was part of the conspiracy to cover up her sons death. To top it off he didn’t have a single remorseful bone in his body and basically spit in the face of the victims mother when all she did was ask for a genuine apology. So yes he got exactly what he deserved. I wouldn’t have been mad if she had backed up and ran him over again to make sure he was gone for sure. You can be sympathic to the plight of the ML but don’t diminish how evil his father was.

That still doesn’t add up with his behavior. That didn’t look like a man that did the unthinkable in order to save his sons life. He didn’t even have a little compassion for the mother whose son was killed. The moments before she ran him over told us everything we needed to know about his character. He was a vile and he got everything he deserved.

Even if the killer is someone else he still deserved what he got. Taking the blame for someone else for money or power is just as bad. The fact that he didn’t apologize to the mother and was talking so disparaging about her and her son on the phone tells us that he was pure evil.

Is there a law in Korea that forces writers to include Africa in every script? Wilderness, barbarism and mosquitoes is crazy. I’m literally ready to stage an intervention. We need some kind of UN resolution to figure out why they are so obesssed with this continent that they think is a country?

Enjoying the drama but does every FL need a scene where they purposely misunderstands the ML? In love to hate you she just randomly assumed he was taking advantage of a teenage girl. This one is alleging he kidnapped a child for what purposes? Besides that I’m enjoying the story though.
