I have no idea about his korean fan base but I'm still baffled by the fact that he is this underrated around the globe. He is such an amazing actor, and his eyes speak a lot. The way he changes his mannerisms for each of his characters is mind-blowing. His drama never disappoints me, ever
On episode 8 and it really interesting to me that A jin is written as morally grey antagonist rather than morally grey protagonist.
Also like how both In gang and Jae ho see pieces of them self in A jin but they are both different in the way they mirror those pieces. Where one fear what he sees the other empathize with that.
And to me Jun seo character is most complex and intresting of all. It feels like he sees and knows what Ajin is capable of but can't believe that is the truth (lives in denial but it not simple) that denial is curated through the trauma bond and being forced to become a protector and then manipulated and gaslight for saving her throw years by a person who knows when and how to pull him.
The rating does no justice to this amazing drama. I can't believe I binged it without any distraction. It’s going on my re-watch worthy list.
Also, what an impressive OST list, such great chemistry between characters, and numerous amazing cameos in the show.
I particularly adore Oh Manager’s character. [but after Dr. Ham, I’m biased, I know.] He had a crush, & took full responsibility for it, never burdened Ji Song with it, and never became nasty or creepy towards her. I genuinely love how their friendship blossomed throughout the entire show. When she rejected him, he respected that and the crush remained, as it naturally happens in real life [it didn't vanish]. However, he also knew when to stop and was respectful to her throughout the show.
I noticed that all the dramas that have a slice of life setting have below deserved rating on MDL. No idea why.…
There is couple of time when I come accross nasty comment on Slice of life drama here on MDL top reason is they are slow pace and not over the top for them and they think slice of life is bad genre. (Last line makes my blood boil)
Why the rating is so low, the drama has a nice pace and carries the ache of living an average life.
All the characters want to live a normal life and it makes it so real and heart warming. It's also not unrealistic. It hooked me from the very first episode. After watching multiple Kim young dae's drama that dude is hell a underrated, every drama of his is so different than the other, in script in messaging and in his character and he transforms very well.
I have never seen Sweet Teeth added to any of such games. It's literally the 2nd Cdrama I have watched, and to this day, it is very close to my heart. I had a big smile when I saw that opening scene text.
I'd like to talk about a scene from episode 5, the one where Tae Poong's mom visited Nam Mo's mom's restaurant…
"I know that some people have expressed their dislike towards Tae Poong's mom’s childish and clueless behavior." These lines...are people being stupid? Her character seems so real to me because I have seen women like her in real life, and they are not childish; they are the sweetest humans on Earth with no malice. I agree with you; she doesn't have to worry about money because her husband did a phenomenal job making them feel secure. We see similar behavior from Kang Tae Poong as well; he didn't care about money (the scene where he gave his friend money, who was on the run, shows that he neither understood the grave meaning of what his friend was saying nor that much money won't work)
Her breaking down internally in that restaurant and then seeking a job shows that she is mature and capable of accepting the change life brought to them. And even if "I think that the writers are setting her up for something more, besides being there for Tae Poong. She might develop a business of her own or contribute in a different way to Typhoon Trading." This does not happen; we are already seeing how she is fighting head-on with what life has brought to them.
Also, I hope we circle back to the roses, I get the feeling that's the product they'll get really rich from
At some point, I was also thinking that with the current Korean market, flowers are everywhere, and what if he combines his love for the product side with his flowers?
But I also think they can become their product later because in the intro, you see a shoe and helmet [some sort of gloves & a robo waiter] and a lot of roses. We already see them pushing shoes as their product (at first, I thought it represented his father, but the shoe illustration was close to safety shoes they are pushing). Then, in the next week’s preview, we see a helmet, so I guess flowers can be one of their products.
what are you doing Meri? you need to stand up for yourself. It’s time to unleash your anger towards your ex…
IKR but honestly that pos ex is going to go berserk if he find and will use against Meri to keep a hold on her. She has said multiple times no but we all know how worst he is and will never take no for an answer. He is unhinged.
I have THEORIES!!!!First, I've got to say that its refreshing that we didn't have to wait for the end for them…
Can I ask at what episode you are? Also, this drama is too predictable and full of tropes. The charm is that it openly accepts it, and that’s why even though on paper it is cringe, the show is shining with the chemistry and an overused but still fresh storyline.
